Samsung Galaxy Note 3
scored an outstanding 27914 on the site’s Benchmark test while running a 1.6GHz processor and sporting Android 4.3. What we don’t know is
if the silicon under the hood is the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa-core. The high score could indicate that this is exactly what is powering the device.
After all, the nearly 28,000 tallied by the Samsung Galaxy Note III would put the phablet slightly above the 27,417 scored by the Exynos powered Samsung Galaxy S4.
With the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini now expected to be introduced at the end of this month, some new pictures of the byte-sized version of Samsung’s flagship Android
phone have leaked.
As you might expect, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini takes its
design cues from its big brother and while the device might
get unveiled just as May is ending, we still could be looking
at a launch in June or July. For those who can’t handle the
5 inch screen on the Samsung Galaxy S4, the 4.3 inch
display could be easier to wield. But with the smaller screen
comes less awesome specs. The 441ppi pixel density on
the Samsung Galaxy S4 drops down to a 256ppi pixel
density on the mini. And instead of the octo-core Samsung
Exynos 5 processor (international version) or the quad-core
Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor found on the
Samsung Galaxy S4, the mini sports a dual-core 1.6GHz
Samsung must be quite busy these days as it’s helplesslytrying to keep information leaks from happening. However, the company doesn’t seem to be doing a great job at that and so we already know that the camera-centric Galaxy S4
Zoom, rugged Galaxy S4 Active and mid-range Galaxy S4 mini are all in the works.
According to the unofficial info that’s currently available, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is to be released sometime in the summer. When it comes to the release dates of the other two, the sources have been a bit more specific, claiming that both the S4 Active and S4 mini will come out in July. Whether or not that is indeed going to be the case, we can’t be sure.
Samsung fan-site SamMobile, though, has now published a new rumor going that Samsung is to announce all three devices by the end of this month. This information is important because it provides more credibility to the previous rumors about the release dates. A period of about a month or so between announcement and launch seems perfectly believable for Samsung devices. Even though all three models have the Galaxy S4 branding, they are all expected to sport mid-range specs, although
each will good at something. For example, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is expected to have a very capable camera in order to rival strong competitors from Nokia and Sony, while the Galaxy S4 Active will aim to be a rugged smartphone
without much compromise in the design department. The Galaxy S4 mini, on the other hand, will be a more compact solution for those users who aren’t into the gigantic
smartphones of today.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been given the Platinum Certification by Underwriters Laboratory. The box which the S4 comes in is made out of 100% recycled material and
printed with soy ink.
