Nokia EOS rumoured to launch on July 9

image

Rumors are that Nokia is most likely to launch the
much anticipated next PureView phone the EOS on July 9.
The phone has recently been in news for allegedly bringing
two of Nokia’s innovations namely the Lumia 920’s
features along with the 41-megapixel

PureView camera clubbed into a single phone.
This EOS phone will indeed be a Windows Phone 8 based
Lumia successor featuring a 41-megapixel sensor camera
with a Carl Zeiss lens, but just like the 808 will only be
able to shoot at a maximum of 34-megapixel. However,
the phone is expected to feature a number of other
camera oriented features including capability to record full
HD videos with three varied frame rates along with three
separate modes for shooting at 720p as well.

Also Nokia plans on bringing new innovations to the
camera, And this phone is most likely to be a part of that
strategy. It is believed that Nokia has redesigned the
camera interface in the phone with circular on screen dial
controls along with other features including manual mode
to adjust camera settings, Nokia’s new Pro Camera
application, and much more.

The phone is rumored to come with a 4.5-inch (720p)
AMOLED WXGA panel as the Lumia 925 and the Lumia
928, and a polycarbonate case.

Nokia Lumia 925 just announced and the specifications are as follows :

image

Design
The Lumia 925 strays from Nokia’s current Lumia in the design department, trading polycarbonate in some places for aluminum. The result is a thinner,
sleeker Lumia that now resembles some of its Android competition.
Polycarbonate does come into play in the rear of the device, which will come in black, white and grey.
Much like some of the other Lumias on the market, the phone will also be capable of wireless
charging. Rather than build the wireless charging capabilities into the handset, however, wireless
charging is done through a thin charging cover placed on the back of the phone. The cover looks like a trendy case rather than a
way to charge, and will come in white, yellow, black and red.
The phone has a 4.5” AMOLED WXGA (1280×768) display made out of sculpted Gorilla Glass 2.
Much like Nokia’s other handsets, the phone has a ClearBlack display for making blacks blacker,
and has a super sensitive screen for using the phone while wearing gloves.

Nokia Lumia 928 Announced

image

Everyone thought that Nokia will announce the Lumia 928 at the May 14 event – well, it won’t, the official announcement just occured. The phone is exclusive to Verizon and as expected is a beefed up version of the Lumia 920.

image

The Nokia Lumia 928 packs with 8.7 MP Image senser that is optically stabilized and sits behind a 26mm wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens with F/2.0 aperture. Unlike the 920, the new model packs Xenon flash alongside the standard LED flash.
It’s quite impressive, considering that the Lumia 928 is just 0.5mm thicker than the Lumia 920.
The Nokia Lumia 928 can capture 1080p videos at 39fps and record sounds as loud as 140dB thanks to its HAAC wide dynamic range microphones.

image

The screen is different too – it’s still 4.5″ in diagonal with 768 x 1,280 pixels resolution, but it’s an AMOLED display with ClearBlack and a High Brightness mode for up to 500 nits of brightness. It’s still super sensitive and works with
fingernails and gloves.

Other than that, the Lumia 928 is not too different from AT&T’s Lumia 920 – it runs Windows Phone 8 on a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor with 1GB of RAM, packs 32GB of built-in memory and a 2,000mAh battery.

On the connectivity side there’s Verizon’s fast 4G LTE along with dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. The phone supports wireless charging too.
Nokia Lumia 928 official images
The phone will, of course, come with exclusive Nokia goodies like HERE Drive+ worldwide SatNav, Nokia Music, Transit, City Lens and more.

The Nokia Lumia 928 will be available May 16 from Verizon
for $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract. For a limited time you’ll also get a $25 voucher for the Windows Marketplace. There will be two color versions at
launch – Black and White.

Nokia asha 501 goes official

image

Stephen Elop just announced the new Nokia Asha 501 on the
stage of the Nokia press in India. It’s the first product of the
new generation Ashas with a brand new platform. The design
is inspired by Lumia and Nokia picked red as the signature
color.
.
The new Asha platform is based on the Smarter Phone
acquisition Nokia made a few years ago. The new interface
focuses on swipe events and a new feature called Fast lane.
.
.

image

The Nokia Asha 501 is made of only two parts to make it
more durable. The back is removableto access the microSIM,
the pre-installed 4GB microSD card (up to 32GB supported)
and the battery.
.
The phone packs a 3” QVGA capacitive touchscreen on the
front and a 3.2MP fixed-focus camera on the back.
.
The new Asha platform is a grandchild of the MeeGo OS. The
phone wakes up with a double tap. It features two home
screens – one is Fast lane, the other one is the app drawer.
.
Fast lane promises to show your present and your past.
Present includes currently running apps (yes, multitasking,
hell froze over), while Past shows messages and other
notifications you’ve received.
.
The 501 focuses on 2G connectivity as large parts of
emerging markets still rely on the slow mobile Internet. To
help with that, Nokia expanded the Xpress functionality on
S40. The Asha 501
.
features Wi-Fi connectivity for faster local connectivity. 3G-
enabled Asha 5xx phones will launchlater.

.
The new Nokia Asha will be a very social platform with
Facebook, Foursquare, Linkedin, Twitter,Youtube and more
will be available out of the box.
.
There’s going to be a dual-SIM version too. The second SIM
card is exchangeable without having to remove the battery, a
feature Nokia was keen to point out is unique to them.
.
The Nokia Asha 501 measures 99.2 x 58 x 12.1mm and
weighs 98g.
.
The new Asha platform is hugely efficient – the 501 features
up to 17 hours of talk time and 48
days of standby.

Nokia Lumia 928 final look

image

@EvLeaks managed to get
what they’re calling a ‘final’ look at
the upcoming Nokia Lumia 928.

The Lumia 928 is rumored to be a
Verizon USA exclusive Windows
Phone, and will be the first Lumia to have a Xenon flash. Judging from the images, it looks pretty slim as well, in a design similar to the Nokia Lumia 920 but with a 4.5inch display and a xenon flash alongside and LED flash.
